All our solutions for preparing for the IELTS
The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is an official language test recognized by universities and institutions worldwide, which accurately assesses your English level. The test takes place over one or two days and evaluates the following four skills: reading, speaking, listening, and writing. Each section is scored on a scale of 0 to 9. You receive an overall average, as well as a score for each skill. The minimum age to register for the test online is 18. To take the test as a minor at an IELTS test center, candidates under 18 must have a consent form signed by a parent or legal guardian so that we can take their photograph.
IELTS test often essential
To enroll in a university program taught in English, you must take the IELTS (or an equivalent test recognized by your chosen university). Universities will require you to achieve a certain score. For example, an average of 6.5 (out of 9) with no score below 6.0. Taking the IELTS is mandatory for most English-language programs at a large number of universities, and your place at the university cannot be confirmed until you have obtained the required score.
Succeed in your IELTS preparation
Achieving a good IELTS score is essential if you wish to study or work in an English-speaking country. Here are some tips to help you prepare:
- 1. Understand the test format
There are two versions of the IELTS : IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training. Make sure you choose the version that best suits your needs. The test format differs for each version, so it's important to understand it in detail. You will need to take theAcademic version for university studies. There is also a variant, IELTS Academic for UKVI , which is required for enrollment in a Foundation Yearprogram.
- 2. Define your goal
What score do you want or need to achieve on the IELTS? This will help you determine the time and effort you need to dedicate to your preparation. Foreign university websites specify the minimum required score for the overall test and for each of the four skills.
- 3. Develop your English skills
The IELTS is a very comprehensive English test, so it's important to develop your skills in all four areas it tests. You can do this, for example, by:
- Watching movies and series in English
- Reading books and articles in English
- Listening to podcasts and music in English
- Speaking English with friends or a tutor
- 4. Practice with mock tests
The many practice tests available online and in books are excellent ways to familiarize yourself with the test format and time your answers.
- 5. Manage your time
Time is an important factor in the IELTS test. Therefore, it is important to know how to manage your time effectively.
- 6. Stay calm and focused
On the day of the test, it is important to remain calm and focused: try to sleep well the night before the test and eat a hearty breakfast.
