University of Stirling, a rising university
Founded in 1967, the University of Stirling is a young and rapidly rising university. Indeed, its track record is already very impressive.
Times Higher Education student ranking Times Higher Education places it 4th in Scotland and 38th in the UK. Its goal is to be among the top 25 in the UK in the coming years. The University of Stirling has also received the maximum possible 5-star rating from QS. This rating assesses teaching, employability, infrastructure, internationalization, and inclusion.
The university has approximately 14,000 students, 20% of whom are international. Pascal Carré from Study Experience visited the campus in November 2022.

Study on the most beautiful campus in Scotland
Sterling is a small town located just 40 minutes by train from Glasgow and an hour from Edinburgh. The 133-hectare campus, considered one of the most beautiful in the UK, is situated around a loch at the foot of the Orchil Hills. The campus is a stunning blend of modern and historic buildings. Here you'll find the Pathfoot Building, one of the finest examples of 1960s architecture in the UK, as well as Airthrey Castle, an 18th-century castle. A new sports complex and a new Central Campus opened in 2020.
Living on the Stirling University campus
The university has approximately 2,900 student accommodations in 19 residences located on or near campus. You will then have the choice between single or shared rooms in residences or 2- or 3-bedroom apartments.
First-year students are guaranteed a place in residence if they accept their offer before a specific date which will be communicated to them.
A dedicated housing team is available 24/7 to assist students if needed.
